The best virtual try-on extension depends on what you're trying on. For a whole outfit from different shops, ChangeMyFit is the strongest pick: it's the only extension here built for whole outfits, dressing you in up to eight pieces at once (outerwear, top, bottoms, shoes, hat, glasses, bag and jewelry), at your real height, and it works in both Chrome and Firefox. For a quick look at a single item, Fitly, TryThisFit and Anywear are solid, and Google's built-in Try on is free for products listed on Google Shopping.
Here's how they compare, what each is best at, and what to watch out for. Details come from each product's own site and were checked in October 2026, so check them again before you buy credits anywhere.

Image quality
The model behind a try-on decides how real it looks: whether your face stays yours, and whether fabric, patterns and layers come out right. ChangeMyFit always makes looks with the best image model available. When a new one comes out, we test it on real outfits and switch if it's better, so your looks improve without you doing anything. Today that's OpenAI's GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst. Most other tools don't say which model they use.
ChangeMyFit
Best for: whole outfits from any mix of shops, and seeing your real proportions.
ChangeMyFit adds a sidebar to your browser. You drag pieces into slots (Outerwear, Top, Bottoms, Shoes, Hat, Glasses, Bag, Jewelry) from any shop, from Pinterest, Instagram or Google Images, and even straight from a grid of search results without opening each product. Then you hit try on and see all of them on you together.
What sets it apart:
- Whole outfits, not swaps. The other extensions here try one garment at a time. Clothes are rarely bought in isolation: the question is whether the jacket works with your jeans and shoes.
- Your real height. You add any photo where your face is clear, even a selfie, plus your height. ChangeMyFit makes a full-body photo of you from it, guided by a figure drawn at your exact height, so a long coat hits where it would actually hit on you. See how to dress for your height.
- No face drift. Every look is a single edit of the same full-body photo of you, never an edit of the last look.
- One photo, whole look. Drop a street-style or Instagram photo into one slot, then fill every empty slot from it in one click.
- Looks you can come back to. Each look keeps its pieces with links to their pages. Group looks into named fits like "Wedding guest" and restore any look's pieces in one click.
- Chrome and Firefox. Plus everything built on them: Edge, Brave, Arc, Opera and Zen.
Trade-offs: each look takes about 30 to 60 seconds, because it uses the highest-quality image model available, and you can keep browsing while it's made. It doesn't suggest sizes, so still check the size chart. Per look it costs $0.20 to $0.25 after your 2 free looks, with no subscription and credits that never expire.
Fitly
Best for: a free single-item check now and then, with a size suggestion.
Fitly is a Chrome extension where you right-click a product image, or drag it into its side panel, and see it on your photo. It estimates your measurements from your photo to suggest a size, which none of the others do, and it says it uses the same model as Google Shopping's try-on. The free plan allows one try-on a week. Its site doesn't say whether you can combine several pieces into one outfit.
TryThisFit
Best for: cheap single-item try-ons.
TryThisFit is a Chrome extension and website: right-click a clothing image and choose "Try This Fit". It's the cheapest per try-on here, from $5 for 40 credits down to $50 for 600, with no subscription. Its own FAQ describes one clothing photo per try-on, says flat-lay product photos work best and that photos with models can cause unwanted face swaps, and notes that the extension doesn't work on every shop yet. Results are deleted after 7 days.
Anywear by Decart
Best for: fast, live previews.
Anywear works differently: instead of a photo, it uses your camera. Drag a garment onto your live video and it's rendered on you in about a second and a half, moving as you move. It's free during its beta, with no account. It's one garment at a time, and a live-video preview is great for a quick vibe check, but you don't get a saved full-body photo of the outfit to compare later.
Google Try on
Best for: products already listed on Google Shopping.
Google has a free "Try it on" button on supported clothing in Search, Shopping and Images, in the US, UK, India and a growing list of countries. You upload a full-body photo and see one product on you. It only covers products in Google's shopping listings, and one product at a time. Google's standalone try-on app, Doppl, was shut down in 2026, with try-on living on in Search.
ChatGPT and other AI image tools
Best for: occasional one-offs if you already pay for it.
You can upload your photo and product images and ask ChatGPT to dress you. It handles whole outfits, but everything is manual: copying images, writing prompts, re-uploading your photo, and your face can drift with each edit. Full walkthrough: how to try on clothes with ChatGPT.
Others worth knowing
- Firefox add-ons: Dresium and Uverest are newer try-on add-ons on Firefox, both with paid credits.
- Phone apps: FitRoom, DrapeAI and Looksy try clothes on your photo from images or product links. Good on the go, but you're screenshotting and switching apps instead of shopping in your browser. We compared those in the best AI virtual try-on apps.
- Shop try-on widgets: some shops embed their own try-on. These only work on that shop's products.
